Abstract

The article "Chemical Composition and Antioxidant Activity of the Essential Oil of Tabernaemontana dichotoma" provides information on the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of the essential oil derived from Tabernaemontana dichotoma, a shrub or tree found in the wet tropical biome. The essential oil was obtained through hydrodistillation and analyzed using GC-FID and GC-MS. The major components of the oil were sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, with β-caryophyllene being the most dominant component. The essential oil also demonstrated moderate antioxidant activity. This study contributes to the understanding of the chemical properties and potential health benefits of Tabernaemontana dichotoma. [Extracted from the article]
