Abstract

This article discusses the important role of clinical radiology, specifically interventional radiology (IR), in pain management. With the global population aging and the prevalence of chronic pain increasing, there is a growing demand for services. Radiologists play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating various conditions, including musculoskeletal pain and oncologic pain. IR procedures are effective alternatives to strong opioid analgesics and can improve patient outcomes. However, the work and importance of clinical radiology and IR are often underrepresented, and there is a need for increased awareness and recognition of their role in pain medicine.
