Abstract

In this paper we seek to contribute to the denunciation of the labor precariousness experienced by the social area in Chile, through the analysis of an experience of resistance to capitalism beyond traditional views and strategies. Trabajo gigante is a forum-theatre play that emerges as a practice of resistance not only anti-capitalist, but also anti-patriarchal, articulating the dimensions of class and gender. Likewise, forum-theatre emerges as a technique of the theatre of the oppressed that subverts certain logics of political action by using art in the service of popular and union struggles. Don Patricio is the name of one of the characters who, being male, boss and businessman, expresses the hegemonic masculinity of social enterprises in Chile. Here we analyze this figure in order to dismantle the complicities between capitalism and patriarchy in such contexts of struggle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
