Abstract

A 65-year-old man presented to the emergency department with symptoms of headache, blurry vision, and flashing lights. He had a history of watery diarrhea, sore throat, ankle swelling, and fatigue. The patient's examination revealed neurological deficits and laboratory tests showed abnormalities in various parameters. A CT scan revealed intracerebral hemorrhage. The patient was suspected to have thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and was started on treatment while awaiting confirmation. Further evaluation revealed features consistent with hemorrhagic posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and Sjogren's syndrome. The patient's condition improved with treatment and he was discharged with residual visual impairment. This case highlights the importance of considering multiple risk factors and differential diagnoses in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage. [Extracted from the article]
