Abstract

This letter published in the Annals of Hematology describes three cases of warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia (wAIHA) that occurred after SARS-CoV-2 infection and were successfully treated with eculizumab. The first patient had a history of hemolysis and achieved remission after receiving eculizumab. The second patient experienced a hemolysis flare and responded to eculizumab after other treatments failed. The third patient had Evans' syndrome and achieved a response with eculizumab. This case series suggests that complement modulation with eculizumab may be effective in treating COVID-19-associated wAIHA, but further research is needed. [Extracted from the article]
