A method for calculating the difference between two iris codes.

The comparison of two iris codes has been proposed in this paper. The main task are to calculate the difference between two iris codes after implementing a large number of comparisons. The comparison is used to find a pair of iris codes with the smallest difference between them. Masking of parts of the iris codes that correspond to noise is also allowed. As a metric for the difference between iris codes, the Hamming distance is used. The main advantages of the Hamming distance are the high speed of calculation, as well as its applicability to the comparison of bit strings of the same length, with an additional offset. The proposed model makes it possible to work not only with codes of the same size, but also with codes of different sizes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
