Abstract

Synthesizing and researching of an intelligent control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is at the core of the autonomous performance of their missions and tasks. In the presented material, the object of the control is studied. It is a UAV with suitable construction and aerodynamic body composition. The performing research under chosen UAV is for static and dynamic stability of it. UAV aerodynamic coefficients of the forces and the moments are obtained in the software environment of a virtual tunnel. A mathematical state-space model for longitudinal motion is synthesised with the results from the virtual tunnel. The closed-loop system in the MATLAB-Simulink environment of the UAV is modelled and a fuzzy logic controller is synthesised to control the pitch angle in function of the elevator's angle deflection of the aircraft. Linguistic rules are developed, which are the basis of operation of the fuzzy controller. This controller is used to control the longitudinal motion of the UAV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
