Abstract

• The calculation method for spatial potential is improved by adding cross-sectional position information. • A differential measuring array is designed to obtain the space potential, and the flexibility of monitoring points is greatly enhanced. • In terms of analysis method, MUSIC-Prony-Decrease (MPD) algorithm is proposed. • Finally, the geometric structure of the measurement array is optimized. At present, the interharmonics in the power system is rising continuously, and realizing its monitoring is of great significance to the safe and stable operation of power system. In this paper, a novel interharmonics monitoring method for overhead transmission lines based on differential space potential measurement is proposed. This method will not affect the operation of existing systems and can achieve mobile and flexible measurement. The simplified calculation method of transmission line space potential is proposed, the field-to-circuit coupling model of the measurement array is established, a novel interharmonics analysis method is proposed, and the structure of the measurement array is optimized. Finally, the effectiveness of this method is proved by simulation under multiple operating conditions and a scale-down experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
