Abstract
- This article discusses a case report of peristomal pyoderma gangrenosum (PG), a rare inflammatory skin condition, that was successfully treated with an interleukin 23 (IL-23) inhibitor. The patient had a history of ankylosing spondylitis and had previously been treated with various medications, including systemic corticosteroids and biologic agents, without success. After undergoing ileostomy revision and starting treatment with risankizumab, the patient's ulcerated lesions improved and no new lesions appeared. The authors suggest that IL-23 inhibitors may be a potential treatment option for refractory peristomal PG. [Extracted from the article]
