Editor's Notes.

The paper introduces several papers in the present issue of the periodical concerning medical education and related topics. Aside the main articles, there is also a "‘Practical Advice"’ piece about how to do clinical research in general practice and at the other end of the spectrum an interview with a community voice. It also highlights a section called "Making a Difference," which contains an interview with Charles Engel, the first editor of the journal. Comments by the journal's associate editor, Jan van Dalen, are also presented in the issue. Van Dalen has done extraordinary service for the journal in his review of the many manuscripts received by the journal and has helped put together many of the issues.
