During the horrors of the Second World War, Henri de Lubac and Simone Weil both discovered the potential of tropological self-techniques and applied biblical resources to shed light on the crises and catastrophes of their time to develop possible ways out. There is an original understanding of revelation at the heart of tropological hermeneutics. According to this understanding, the object of interpretation regarding divine revelation is the lived now and it applies Scripture as its interpretative tool. The paper outlines the individual perspectives of Henri de Lubac and Simone Weil by suggesting a concept how this understanding of revelation can be described within the historical horizon of the Second World War.
