Abstract
- In this study, the optical D-flip flop plasmonic waveguide was developed utilizing software for the finite element method (FEM). The insulator-metal-insulator (IMI) plasmonic waveguide technology served as the foundation for the construction of the all-optical D-flip flop circuit. The location of the previous, clock, and input ports and the phase of the optical waves are suggested to get the best transmission value based on the interaction between the input and previous ports when the value of the transmission threshold is 35%. This design implements a D-flip flop based on an elliptical resonator using a structure with a dimension of 250 nm x 250 nm and an operating wavelength of 850 nm. The transmission threshold, modulation depth (MD), contrast ratio (CR), and insertion loss (IL) criteria were put out to assess the performance of all-optical flip flops. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
