Abstract

This article discusses the importance of ensuring equitable vaccination coverage to prevent bacterial meningitis among school children in Nigeria. Bacterial meningitis is a severe infection that can lead to complications such as brain damage and death. However, there are challenges to achieving equitable immunization coverage in Nigeria, including limited access to vaccines, lack of infrastructure and resources, and cultural beliefs. To address these challenges, strategies such as educating parents and caregivers, providing vaccinations in accessible locations, and involving communities in vaccination campaigns can be implemented. By targeting high-risk populations and tracking progress, public health officials can increase vaccination coverage and reduce the incidence of bacterial meningitis among school children in Nigeria.
