Abstract
- Problems associated with inadequate ergonomic working conditions are gaining importance today, so it is very important to study whether the usual procedures used in construction activities comply with the basic principles of ergonomics; especially if it is considered that, in general, they are carried out under a lowtech environment. It has been identified that in construction activities, the main ergonomic risks are related to forced postures, manual handling, and repetitive motions. The aim of this study was to analyze the movements performed and postures used by construction workers, to determine the levels of ergonomic risks with which they are performed. Seven activities were evaluated using three different ergonomic evaluation methods. As a result, it was concluded that workers in the construction industry are performing their tasks under levels of ergonomic risk that should not be accepted. The most critical ergonomic risks observed were in activities related to manual load carrying and awkward postures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
