Abstract

The article focuses on the increasing use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) in both dramas and art-house films, exemplified by "Roma" (2018), where CGI is employed extensively to create realistic urban scenes in Mexico City, challenging the conventional perception of visual effects being limited to fantasy and science fiction genres, with a significant portion of VFX work aiming to remain invisible to the audience.
