Abstract

This article is a systematic review that examines the association between pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) and autoimmune connective tissue disorders (AI-CTD). The review analyzed 78 articles and included 234 patients with PG and AI-CTD. The most common AI-CTD associated with PG was rheumatoid arthritis (RA), followed by systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The review also discussed the treatment options for PG, which often involve long courses of immunosuppressants. The authors propose an algorithm for diagnosing AI-CTD in patients with PG, particularly in females with RA. [Extracted from the article]
