Abstract

The aim of the experiment was to study the effect of curcumin on the lipid metabolism of grass goldfish and find out the appropriate amount of curcumin. 360 grass goldfish with an initial weight of (40.12±1.23) g and initial body length of (10.34±0.08) cm were selected. They were randomly divided into six groups, with three replicates in each group, and each replicate consisting of 20 individuals. Different concentrations of curcumin (0, 40, 80, 160, 320, and 640 μmol/L) were injected, and the fish were cultured for 14 days. After 7 and 14 days of curcumin injection, the concentrations of serum TC and TG in the 160-640 μmol/L curcumin group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The activities of AST and ALT in the hepatopancreas of grass goldfish in the 320 μmol/L curcumin group and 640 μmol/L curcumin group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The activities of CAT and T-SOD in the 320 μmol/L curcumin group were significantly higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The study indicates that curcumin injection can reduce the concentrations of serum TC and TG to a certain extent, and has a certain repair effect on the hepatopancreas of grass goldfish, and can improve the antioxidant capacity of the hepatopancreas.
