MEMÓRIA E IDENTIDADE NA FOLIA DE REIS DE URUCERES, GOIÁS.

In this article we present a study on memory: individual memory of the participants in the celebration and collective memory of the group of revelers from Uruceres. In this religious festival, which presents rites of popular Catholicism, feelings, knowledge and collective norms are shared, which are consolidated, recovered and reactivated in the rituals present in each edition of the festival. These popular celebrations carry meanings that build the identity of the groups that carry them out. In the tribute made by the revelers, year after year, there is a reactivation of the collective and individual memory of individuals belonging to the community where the party takes place. The place receives the brand of the group and vice versa. The Folia of the town of Uruceres is unique, because it receives the mark of the place and the people who live in it. Even reinterpreting such an old rite and following a secular tradition, its members resort to memory, supported by tradition, to continue the celebration. The analyzes were performed based on the coexistence with the revelers in their celebrations, in the years 2018 and 2019. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
