Abstract

China's state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have established numerous institutions and projects in over 180 countries, employing around 1.25 million people abroad. In an interview with CNMC Chairman Xi Zhengping, he emphasized the importance of SOEs fulfilling social responsibility abroad. He stated that their overseas operations adhere to local ecological and environmental laws, emphasizing green development and harmonious coexistence with nature. CNMC has contributed to the sustainable development of local economies, communities, and environments by creating employment opportunities, supporting industrialization, investing in infrastructure, and providing healthcare and educational assistance in Africa. CNMC also prioritizes innovation and green development by investing in technology and focusing on the development and industrialization of high-value-added products in new materials. They utilize technological advancements to facilitate the digital transformation, intelligent upgrading, and green development of traditional industries. CNMC has also made progress in ecological conservation through green transformation and technological improvements, achieving environmental improvement and economic gains. They are committed to showcasing their commitment to green and sustainable development on the international stage through their participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
