Abstract

The article discusses the growing concern about the impact of social media and smartphones on children. While there has been an increase in anxiety among young people, there is surprisingly little solid evidence to support the claim that technology is the sole cause. Other factors such as social inequality, fears about climate change, and the influence of therapy culture may also play a role. The article suggests that instead of banning phones, proper regulation of social media companies and addressing underlying issues like climate change and poverty may be more effective solutions.
