Abstract

This article discusses the outcomes of using AngioJet pharmacomechanical thrombectomy to manage occluded dialysis access in a tertiary referral governmental hospital in Qatar. The study found that AngioJet thrombectomy was successful in restoring flow in 91.9% of cases, with 79.4% of patients experiencing successful dialysis within 48 hours post-procedure. The primary patency rates at 1, 3, and 6 months were 87.5%, 78%, and 46.9% respectively, while the secondary patency rates at 3, 6, and 12 months were 87.5%, 66.7%, and 58.3% respectively. The study concludes that AngioJet is a safe and effective tool for salvaging arteriovenous fistula and graft access in dialysis patients. [Extracted from the article]
