Abstract

Recent research has found that the TAM protein family, activated by the GAS6 and PROS ligands, plays a role in liver diseases such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), cirrhosis, and liver cancer. The TAM system is involved in liver cell damage, liver fibrosis, and regulation of inflammation. Soluble TAM-related proteins, particularly soluble AXL, may serve as an early serum marker for disease progression. The TAM system is an interesting topic for future biomedical research in liver pathology and a potential target for treatment. [Extracted from the article]
