Abstract
- This article explores the relationship between the heart, other organs, and the brain, discussing how signals from the heart can influence perceptions, decisions, and mental health. It also highlights the potential role of the heart in memory, intuition, and emotions. However, the exact mechanisms and wiring between the heart and the brain are still not fully understood. The article suggests that further research in this area could lead to new treatments for disorders such as anxiety and provide insights into human consciousness. Additionally, the article discusses the emerging field of interoception, which focuses on the communication between the body and the brain. Researchers have found that neurons throughout the brain can sense the pressure changes caused by the heart pumping blood, indicating a direct connection between the heart and the brain. This finding has implications for understanding anxiety disorders and consciousness. Training individuals to better detect their own heartbeat has been shown to reduce anxiety, and signals from the heart may contribute to a person's sense of self and consciousness.
