Abstract
- This article discusses a rare case of iatrogenic renal pelvis injury following ureteric cannulation with a 5-F catheter. The patient, who was undergoing surgery for a retroperitoneal sarcoma, experienced acute kidney injury and worsening renal function postoperatively. Due to the patient's renal impairment, a CT urogram was not possible, so alternative imaging techniques, including MAG3 and single-photon emission CT (SPECT)/CT, were used to diagnose the injury. The patient underwent a successful stent insertion and experienced rapid improvement in renal function. The article highlights the importance of considering alternative imaging modalities in cases where intravenous contrast is contraindicated. [Extracted from the article]
