Abstract

The article provides general information about the advantages and disadvantages of wild-caught and farm-raised seafood. Factors to consider to help decide when buying seafood include nutrient content or nutritional value such as fat and protein, potential for contamination such as with heavy metals like mercury and arsenic and industrial chemicals, environmental impact and sustainability through use of renewable energy sources and more effective feeding systems.
