Abstract
- In order to further understand the ecological status of the northern slope of Qinling Mountains, high-resolution remote sensing data and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method were used to build an assessment model for the evolution of ecological security. With the analysis of spatio temporal variation and its driving factors, the ecological security status of the mountains was deeply explored. The findings reveal an overall increasing trend in the ecological security of the region, with areas rated as moderately safe or above increasing from 67.5% to 71.9%. Ecological security is generally higher in the southern than in the northern regions, displaying a clear zonal distribution pattern. The evolution of ecological security first declined and then grew, with land use, normalized vegetation index, and PM2.5 identified as the primary driving factors, with correlation indices of 0.90, 0.86, and 0.79, respectively. The results indicate that anthropogenic activities from urbanization and ecological conservation policies significantly influence the ecological security of the northern Qinling region. This study not only offers a scientific assessment of the ecological security in the mountains, but also provides robust decision-making support for regional ecological conservation and sustainable development strategies.
