Abstract

This research translation discusses the concept of person-centered research in industrial-organizational psychology, focusing on the whole person rather than variables and relationships. It summarizes studies in burnout, personality, commitment, and emotional labor, highlighting the importance of understanding individual differences and tailoring interventions. The article suggests that a person-centered approach to personality can be useful in selecting candidates and developing teams. It also explores the person-centered approach to organizational commitment and the impact of emotional labor on employees in customer-facing roles. The article concludes by emphasizing the potential benefits of implementing a person-centered approach in organizations to foster well-being and prevent burnout. [Extracted from the article]
