Alien species of vascular plants first reported for Bulgaria after 2000.

Invasive alien species are considered some of the most important causes of biodiversity loss on a global scale. This explains why interest in their research has been steadily rising in recent years. A review of botanical literature for the Bulgarian flora shows that after 2000 more than 100 alien species of vascular plants have been reported for the first time for the Bulgarian flora.
