Abstract

The Journal of Archaeological Method & Theory has published an editorial note analyzing its record of publishing by career stage and senior author gender over the past 29 years. The analysis shows that while there has been an increase in the inclusion of early career researchers, the majority of authors are men. The editorial note acknowledges that other intersectional identities, such as race, ethnicity, country of origin, and disability status, may also affect publishing access and productivity. The journal plans to continue analyzing publishing trends and remains committed to an inclusive and transparent publication process. [Extracted from the article]
