Abstract

The article discusses the challenges faced by individuals with type 1 diabetes who also struggle with obesity. While advancements in diabetes management have improved glycemic control and quality of life for those with type 1 diabetes, they have also led to weight gain and an increased risk of obesity. This combination of type 1 diabetes and obesity, known as "double diabetes," can lead to further complications and cardiovascular risks. The article highlights the need for evidence-based interventions and guidelines to address the dual treatment of type 1 diabetes and obesity. It also discusses the challenges in lifestyle modification, pharmacotherapy, and bariatric surgery for individuals with type 1 diabetes and obesity. The authors emphasize the importance of further research and a holistic approach to managing both conditions. [Extracted from the article]
