Abstract
- A dual-state fluorophore 2-(2-(6-(dimethylamino)benzo[d]oxazol-2-yl)vinyl)quinolin-8-olfamily (BQ) has been synthesized with N,N, 2-trimethylbenzoxazol-6-amine and 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde in one-pot reaction. BQ exhibits orange to red fluorescence in polar solvents. X-Ray single crystal demonstrates that the molecules of BQ adopt a stacking mode of J -aggregation in crystals, resulting in a deep red emission in the solid state. Applications of BQ in both solution and solid state were conducted by detecting Cu2+ in solution or on paper with BQ as a fluorescent probe. [Display omitted] [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
