Abstract

The article discusses the population recovery of the buffy-headed marmoset, a Critically Endangered species, in the Private Natural Heritage Reserve–Feliciano Miguel Abdala in Brazil. The population of the marmoset declined by over 80% due to a yellow fever outbreak, but recent observations suggest that the population may be recovering. The study counted 35 individuals in total, compared to 17 individuals in previous years. The increase in population is promising for the long-term recovery of the species, although threats such as competition with invasive species and hybridization still persist.
