Abstract

The text discusses two separate events. The first event is an international colloquium titled "Secularisation, Pluralism and the 'Death' of Religion - A Nineteenth-Century Conversation (Western Europe)" held at the University of Geneva in June 2023. The colloquium aimed to challenge the widely accepted idea that the second half of the twentieth century was a key moment in secularization, instead focusing on the nineteenth century. The second event is the second International Seminar on Catholicism in Latin America in the 20th century, held at the University of the Pacific in Lima in October 2023. The seminar aimed to provide a space for discussion and research on the development of Catholicism in the region. [Extracted from the article]
