Abstract

This document contains abstract translations from the journal "Person-Centered & Experiential Psychotherapies." The first abstract discusses the therapist's experience of metaphor in non-directive person-centered relationships. The study found that therapists experienced metaphor in relation to relinquishing certainty, risking curiosity, and connecting briefly. The second abstract explores the experiences of heterosexual therapists working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer clients. The study highlights the limited dialogue in this area and calls for further exploration of the experiences of sexual minority clients in person-centered therapy. Another abstract focuses on the challenges and opportunities faced by counselors with ADHD in their practice. The research aims to improve understanding of how a counselor's ADHD diagnosis can impact their person-centered practice. The study explores the experiences of counselors with ADHD through qualitative interviews and identifies themes such as attention deficits, impulsive disclosures, emotional dysregulation, increased curiosity, and unconditional positive regard. The findings suggest that acceptance and support for counselors with ADHD within the profession can be encouraged and fostered through this understanding. Lastly, the document introduces a humanistic training activity called "Internal Dialogue Method" and explores the experiences of the participants. The method is based on the philosophy of existentialism and humanistic integration. The text explains the goals, steps, and role of the facilitator in the Internal Dialogue Method. It also analyzes the dialogue of five participants to explore their experiences during the conversation. The analysis identifies three main themes: integration of existential modes from experience, theory, and dialogue; [Extracted from the article]
