Abstract

This article deals with Letters from England written by Edmund Naganowski in 1879-1903 and published in Warsaw, Cracow and Lwów newspapers and magazines. He was a keen observer of English literary and cultural scene, politics and the English way of life. Moreover, he sought to introduce to his Polish readers the most notable contemporary British writers. Although his fascination with Britain is uncontestable, he could also write about it in a critical tone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
