Acclimating Clinicians to Academia: Helpful Suggestions.

The purpose of this paper is to bring awareness to clinicians that are interested in pursuing a teaching career in schools of nursing in higher academic institutions. The paper aims to discuss the need-to know information to be successful in the academy. The target audience for this paper includes registered nurses, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), and newly hired instructors and/or assistant professors aspiring for an academic appointment in a university setting.
