Abstract

This document discusses the role of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in the treatment of liver diseases, particularly hepatitis virus infections. The human genome encodes numerous protein kinases, including tyrosine kinases, which play a crucial role in cellular signaling. TKIs have been used in the treatment of various cancers and have shown potential in inhibiting hepatitis virus replication. The document also highlights the concept of drug repurposing, where existing drugs are used for new therapeutic purposes. The authors emphasize the need for more effective and convenient drugs for hepatitis virus infections and suggest that TKIs may hold promise in this regard. [Extracted from the article]
