Abstract
- Introduction: psychosocial factors are conditions that people, when relating to the environment, work and the society that surrounds them, live and experience; these factors do not constitute a risk until they become potentially dangerous for the health and wellbeing of the worker., affecting their relationship with work or environment. Objective: identify the psychosocial risks that affect the health of workers at a five-star hotel in the city of Cartagena de Indias. Methods: the battery of instruments for the evaluation of psychosocial risk factors prepared by the Ministry of Social Protection was used in 151 operational workers, composed of a general data sheet, a questionnaire on intrawork psychosocial risk factors, a questionnaire for the evaluation stress and extra-work psychosocial risk factors questionnaire. Results: intrawork, the level of medium risk with mental loads and perception of the demands of their work, exposure to medium risk in emotional and quantitative demands affecting some of their activities; in non-work areas, medium risks in the dimension of commuting from work to home and in turn, high levels of stress are identified in administrative areas with the probability of physical symptoms, anxiety and even depressive tendencies. Conclusion: there are high risks in work demands, and in work stress, generating physical, emotional and cognitive symptoms that can affect some of their activities, for which administrative controls must be implemented to reduce and prevent risk levels and also strengthen programs. training on skills and labor relations.
