Abstract

This article discusses the utility of preoperative computed tomography (CT) scans in predicting long-term outcomes after minimally invasive surgical aortic valve replacement (mSAVR). The study analyzed 203 patients who underwent mSAVR and found that certain anatomical variables assessed by preoperative CT were correlated with survival and major cardiac events. The authors conclude that preoperative CT should be included in the preparatory pathway for patients with severe aortic valve disease. [Extracted from the article]
