Abstract

This article presents a case study of a former professional football player who developed chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) later in life. The study provides detailed information about the patient's symptoms, cognitive decline, and functional impairments, as well as findings from neuroimaging and neuropathological examinations. The article emphasizes the need for further research to better understand CTE and its associated pathologies. It also suggests that FDG-PET imaging may be a useful diagnostic tool for early-stage CTE and highlights the potential link between traumatic brain injury and other brain pathologies.
