Abstract

A 66-year-old man developed lymphocytic myocarditis while being treated with ipilimumab and nivolumab for metastatic renal cell carcinoma. He experienced symptoms such as dizziness and diplopia, and was found to have high-grade atrioventricular block. Further investigations revealed elevated levels of troponin, transaminases, and creatinine kinase. Despite receiving a permanent pacemaker and showing improvement in his condition, the man later developed dysphagia, progressive weakness, and respiratory failure, leading to his death one month after the initial presentation. The article suggests a link between the use of ipilimumab and nivolumab and the development of lymphocytic myocarditis. [Extracted from the article]
