Abstract
- The article analyzes the legal framework of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, and the European Union in relation to discrimination and hatred towards women based on gender and religion. The importance of gender equality and religious freedom is highlighted, as well as the need to protect and promote these fundamental rights. The author conducts a thorough analysis of the norms and documents issued by these international organizations, with the aim of understanding how this issue is addressed. The importance of adopting an intersectional perspective to ensure the effective protection of women's rights is emphasized. The text analyzes norms and documents that offer a negative and limiting concept of women's rights in relation to religion. Resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly and reports from the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and the Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief are mentioned. The legal framework of the Council of Europe and the European Union in relation to gender equality and non-discrimination based on religious grounds is also addressed.
