Abstract

Trigeminal neuralgia is a very painful disorder characterized by sudden onset, recurrent, unilateral, short, electric shock-like pain attacks in the trigeminal nerve distribution areas, causing a decrease in the patient's quality of life. Any, two or all three branches of the trigeminal nerve may be involved. Membrane stabilizing agents, anticonvulsants, antidepressants and muscle relaxants are generally used in the treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia. However, resistance to treatment may be observed in most patients. In this article, the effective treatment of 2 patients diagnosed with Trigeminal neuralgia with neuraltherapy is discussed. Neural therapy treatment completely eliminated the symptoms of the patients and it was observed that the attacks did not recur during the 3-4 month follow-up period. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
