Abstract

Self-assembly of polarization domain in relaxor-ferroelectrics Pb[(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3) 0.722 Ti 0.278 ]O 3 is discussed based on the observation of the coherent soft X-ray laser reflection. We investigate the autocorrelation of the polarization domain at the early stage of evolution. Local order of the polarization domain become in phase and periodic over 600 μm as the temperature of the crystal cool down to 383 K keeping with almost thermal equilibrium condition. Minimum domain formation free energy is discussed qualitatively. • Self-assembly of polarization domain following the minimum sum of dipole-dipole free energy and elastic free energy.
