EAFIT University leads the Cocoa Effect project, which aims to improve the quality of life for around 1,700 cocoa-producing families in four regions of Colombia. The project has received an investment of 35 million dollars and focuses on productivity, association, entrepreneurship, and social aspects. Additionally, it has contributed to the substitution of illicit crops. The project is a partnership between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Luker Chocolate, Luker Foundation, Enel-Emgesa, Saldarriaga Concha Foundation, and EAFIT University.
