Abstract

A 78-year-old woman developed immunoglobulin A vasculitis while being treated with ciprofloxacin and metronidazole for acute diverticulitis. She presented with a skin rash on her feet that spread to her lower limbs and buttocks, along with symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Initial tests indicated leukocytoclastic vasculitis and immunoglobulin A vasculitis, and a skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. The woman was treated with methylprednisolone and made a full recovery after discontinuing the antibiotics. [Extracted from the article]
