Abstract
- This article discusses the specimens of mammals and birds collected near Mount Kinabalu, Borneo, between 1887 and 1888, which are now housed in the World Museum, National Museums Liverpool. The naturalist John Whitehead was the first person to reach the summit of Mount Kinabalu in 1888 and his collections included over forty new species of birds and six new mammals. The specimens were examined and documented by Michael Rogers Oldfield Thomas and Richard Bowdler Sharpe of the British Museum (Natural History), London. The article provides information about specific bird and mammal specimens, including their collection dates and locations. [Extracted from the article]
