Tensile strength, conductivity and morphological studies of dip-coated PEDOT: PSS/PU fabric.

Abstract
- PEDOT: PSS fabric is one of the E-textile innovations that was acknowledged to be a good material to be used for wearable sensor applications. However, PEDOT: PSS exhibits brittleness properties and it can be solved by introducing a soft polymer. This study's primary goal was to create PEDOT: PSS fabric utilising polyurethane (PU) as a stretchability enhancer and the dip-coating technique. In this investigation, tensile testing, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) examinations were used to explore the effects of PU at various concentrations on the stretchability, conductivity, and morphology of the samples. The variation of PEDOT: PSS to PU ratio at 1:0, 1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2, and 1:2.5 were used in this experiment. The resulting fabric with a 1:1.5 ratio of PEDOT: PSS to PU had an average elongation at a break of 81% with optimum conductivity at 4.91 × 10-3 Scm−1. This finding contributes to the knowledge of stretchability enhancement of PEDOT: PSS fabric could be done using an optimum ratio of PEDOT: PSS to PU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
