Abstract

The article analyzes the political and social role of the peasantry in Veracruz during the Mexican post-revolution. The historical importance of the peasant sector in the region and its evolution in terms of agricultural techniques and relationships with governments are highlighted. The book examines the formation of the League of Agrarian Communities in Veracruz and the influence of the press on the perception of peasants during the 1920s. The importance of testimonial literature written by those who participated in the struggle for land is also addressed. Finally, the agrarian movement and the governments that make agrarianism a political agenda are criticized. [Extracted from the article]
