Abstract
- In the industry, electric spark cutting is a key cutting operation because it can efficiently cut both hard and difficult-to-work-with materials using traditional methods. The primary goal of this study is to investigate the influence of four copper electrodes (Gost 1173) on the wear rate of a titanium alloy (Grade 1), where three electrodes were coated with different materials (nickel, silver, and gold). The (full factorial design) was used to design the experiments, and the actual results revealed that the electrode wear rate reduces as the discharge current and pulse on time increase, and vice versa. Furthermore, the predicted results are extremely near to the practical side results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
